William Wesley (Bill) Hausman, Jr., born in San Diego, CA, on March 6, 1938, died peacefully in his sleep at his Carmichael home on Oct. 31, 2019. He was 81. A native Californian, Bill grew up in San Diego and graduated from Hoover High School in 1956. He played the trombone in his high school marching band and proudly performed in several Rose Parades in Pasadena. He lived many years in Escondido, CA and attended nearby Coleman University and Palomar Community College. His career as a computer systems analyst, primarily serving in the banking industry, would take him to Tempe, AZ, Dallas, TX, and finally Concord in the Bay Area of Northern California. In 1999, he and his beloved wife, Carol, moved to Magalia, CA, where they would live until tragically losing their home in the Camp Fire on Nov. 8, 2018. Bill was loved by many and known for his kind and gentle personality. He enjoyed hiking, camping, traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his family. Some of his favorite places to visit were Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. Bill is predeceased by parents Alta (Reinert) and William Wesley Hausman, Sr.; stepfather Kenny Reinert; brother Michael Hausman; and stepchildren Gwen and Calvin Leister. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol; brother-in-law Richard Yates of Wilmington, DE; son Jeff Hausman and daughter-in-law Lisa of Carmichael; daughter Kari Lyons and son-in-law James of Escondido; stepmother Bernadine Hausman of San Diego; sister Sandy Allen and brother-in-law Doug of Running Springs, CA; grandchildren Lindsey Hausman of Sacramento, Megan Hausman of Carmichael, Tyler Lyons of Oceanside, Danae Lyons of Escondido, and Grant Leister (wife Rachel) of Santa Rosa, CA; great granddaughter Callie of Santa Rosa; aunt Virginia Bennett of Chico, CA; nephew Nathan Bowen (wife Jessica and family) of Encinitas, CA; nieces Jennifer Bowen (and family) of Boulder, CO, and Rachel Allen of Manhattan Beach, CA; and cousins Steve and Elizabeth Bennett of Reno, NV, and Bill Bennett of Chico. A celebration of life will be held at the home of Jeff and Lisa Hausman in Carmichael in January 2020.
