William Charles Etgen was born in New York, NY and died in his home in
Sacramento, CA with his wife Beth and son Benjamin by his side.
Bill was 90 years old and he spent those years living close to the
things and people he loved, doing the things he loved and wanted to do.
He was a magician at heart, all about technique, mechanics and
showmanship. He loved to tinker with new magic tricks and try them out
on his family and friends.
He died of old age, of nothing in particular, of a body that just grew
too old and fragile to go on. He quietly stopped breathing, passed away
peacefully and went on to the Great Spirit or to see God or Buddha, or
maybe all three, as we believe that he had some questions for them.
He will be remembered for his deep interest in Asian culture,
particularly temple burial money which he enjoyed discovering in San
Francisco and Oakland, the magical community of friends he made over his
long life and desire to promote entrepreneurial and small business ventures.
He is survived by his family and many friends. Celebrate his life by
caring about the world and living in harmony with it.
