Willa Arlene Oswalt Fitzsimmons of Citrus Heights passed away peacefully while surrounded by family March 19, 2015 due to complications following a stroke suffered on March 11th, she was 73. Willa was born in Springfield, Mo on Nov 1, 1941 to Milo and Mary Oswalt and was the youngest of four sisters. She graduated from Grant Union High School in 1959, was a member of the Grant Union High School Alumni Association and attended many reunions. She was preceded in death by her father Milo, her mother Mary and her sister Lois. She is survived by her children, Jerry (daughter-in-law Rosemarie) Fitzsimmons Woodbridge, Va, John Fitzsimmons of Escondido, Ca, Douglas (daughter-in-law Melissa) Fitzsimmons of Citrus Heights and Jodi (son-in-law Troy) Anderson of Carmichael. She was a loving grandmother to her grandsons Jerry, Patrick, Sean, Dakota and Charles and granddaughters, Autumn, Blake and Ryan. She adored her sisters Donna and Loretta as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Willa cherished her family and friends. Her thoughtfulness and kindness was a part of everything she did. Whether it was a personalized Christmas ornament or a birthday gift commemorating your birth year, she made it special and just for you. She was very well-known for her homemade greeting cards. She poured her heart and soul into each card and everyone who received one was very grateful. Willa was a long time member of TOPS, KOPS and the Red Hat Society. She loved the group get togethers and cherished each and every one of the friends she made there. She was also an avid supporter of the Disabled American Veterans and the Firefighters Support Foundation. Willa's family will celebrate her life with a gathering of family and friends on Saturday May 2nd from 12:00 to 5:00 pm with a memorial service at 1:00 pm at 5436 Lequel Way, Carmichael.
