Way Q. Fong

Way Q. Fong, 78, passed away on June 22, 2018 with his family at his home in Sacramento, CA.His struggle with his health issues ended and he slept peacefully. Way was born in San Francisco, CA on December 3, 1939.In his early years, he had many interests and wasn’t afraid to take risks or to try something new.He enjoyed meeting and talking to people from all walks of life.Along the way, he realized that he wanted to help others which prompted his decision to go back to school and earn his Bachelor’s degree in social work.He graduated in 2001 at the age of 61.He worked for Sacramento County until his retirement a few years ago.He also liked camping trips with his RV.He especially liked to camp in Yosemite, spending time with his friends and loved ones while enjoying the wonderous surroundings. Way is survived by his longtime partner Kathy and his children:Michael Fong and Russell Fong (Kris).He was the sixth child of Yin Fong and Hoo Shee Fong.Way is preceded in death by his parents. Way’s excitement for life and his constant smile will be greatly missed. The celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Sierra View Funeral Chapel at 6201 Fair Oaks Boulevard, Carmichael, CA95608.Immediately following the celebration, a reception will be held at Sakura Grill & Buffet at 2344 Watt Avenue, Sacramento CA95825.
