Walter Cromwell Trobee Jr., 89, died Saturday, March 25 th , 2017 at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, California following a long struggle with kidney disease. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara (Abrott) Trobee: son Bruce Trobee and his wife Kathy; his daughter, Kim Fekete; four grandchildren, Sarah, Brian, Aaron and Collin; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Claire Aube of San Leandro, CA. Walter, the son of Walter Cromwell and Madelyn (Ebert) Trobee of Hayward, CA. was a veteran of WWII; enlisting with the U.S. Marine Corp while still attending high school. After the war he returned to Hayward Union High to complete and receive his high school diploma in 1946. Soon after he met his wife, Barbara, at a night school photography class. They were married December 27 th , 1947 in Carson City, Nevada. Walter’s interest in film and photography led him to Los Angeles where he attended Fred Archer School of Photography. A photographer by trade he freelanced for many years before landing a permanent position in Sacramento, CA. with Ponder & Best, Inc (now Vivitar). He not only took pride in his position as the northern California sales representative for his company but truly relished the friends he made during this time. Over the years, his photographic expertise and charismatic personality led him to be named as one of the top sales representative for P & B, Inc. Mr. Trobee had a passion for animals. He raised and trained German Shorthair hunting dogs which heightened his enjoyment for hunting. He and his wife, Barbara, also bred and raised race horses, where they won numerous races. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Sierra View Country Club in Roseville, CA and played in many tournaments at various courses throughout California and Hawaii. No service will be held. He will be buried at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon
