Vince Anthony Damyanovich

October 25, 1937 — August 2, 2023

Vince passed away from Non Hodgkin's lymphoma in Mercy General Hospital, Sacramento California on August 2nd, 2023 surrounded by his family. There will be a Celebration of Life, on October 7, 2023 at 11:30AM at Sierra 2, Curtis Hall, 2791 24th Street, Sacramento.

Born to Croatian immigrants, Marko & Mara Damjanovic who moved to Sacramento, California in the early 1920's. He was the youngest of three children, brother to his late sisters Mary Palmero and Katie Nance. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria, for whom he was married to for 48 years and his three children Karen Demianew, Vincent Michael & Christopher Damyanovich & grandson Jonathan Demianew,

A lifetime resident of Sacramento, Vince grew up in Land Park and attended C.K. McClatchy High School and graduated in 1955. Shortly after graduation he joined the Naval Reserves and served for 8 years.
Vince started with PG&E in 1957. First, as a ditch digger and then became a gas serviceman where he was loved and revered by his co-workers and his customers.
He retired in November of 2000 after 43 years.

He had a passion for going out on the Sacramento River and was in the Sacramento Speed Boat association for over 20 years. He loved recreational sports and was a member of multiple PG&E leagues that included bowling, softball and golf. After retirement, he joined SIR93, a local chapter of other retirees for whom he formed close friendships with as they played golf courses all across Northern California and bowled. A highlight for him was winning multiple bowling tournaments in Las Vegas with the Croatian Fraternal Union for which he was a proud member for over 60 years.

Vince & Maria traveled the world through her Pampered Chef business for which he was so proud of her for earning the many trips they went on. From the states to Europe, Vince loved experiencing new places but was always glad to come home. Of course, his favorite place to visit was Croatia which he visited 3 times.  He had tremendous pride for his heritage and everyone else who came from there. To say Vince was a proud Croat is an under statement!
Vince welcomed all, always smiled and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
He is so loved and will be sorely missed.
