Vicki Lynn Philipanko found eternal peace, returning to her parents Walt and Vi Philipanko, on February 13, 2021. Born in North Dakota, Vicki was no stranger to travel and also lived in California, Maine, Minnesota, Florida and Missouri. Her life adventures included organic creative cooking before it was a trend or tasty much to the chagrin of her family; following her first husband’s dream of sailing, flying, and homesteading; authoring and publishing a now out-of-print book called Taming and Training Your Guinea Pig that once was touted as a rare book by an EBay seller and could be purchased before I-phones on-line for $300; and, driving herself to read and research so many books on so many topics in so little time. Vicki will be remembered for her energy and how when amused she would throw her head back and give a great big belly laugh. She is survived by her daughters Melanie Bellamy and Rebecca Lasell, and her grand-adults Ky Heart and Deven Miller. She was blessed with her longtime friendships of Sharon, Marvin and Lucy, and sense of community from Trinity Lutheran church and her beloved midtown apartment. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Sacramento Bee’s Book of Dreams in her name.
