Tim Wheeler

May 30, 1964 — May 2, 2024

Tim Wheeler passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024 after an epic and courageous battle with cancer. If there was a Bucket List Hall of Fame, Tim would be its top honoree - having spent the decade since his diagnosis thumbing his nose at disease and traveling from the deserts and beaches of Baja, to the crystalline waters of French Polynesia and Fiji, across the granite slabs of the Rubicon to the Red Rocks of Moab, to the home fields of his beloved Steelers and Buckeyes to cheer them to victory. And much, much more. And all the while, he made time to encourage other people facing cancer to live their lives to the fullest. He made every second count and was a wonder to all who witnessed his unending celebration of life.

Tim was born in Columbus, Ohio (Go Bucks!) and raised in Danville, CA. He attended Monte Vista High School and CA State University, Sacramento. He spent most of his career proudly serving in law enforcement.

Tim is survived by his wife Theresa, his mother Mona, his father Gene and his wife Cindy, brothers Bob (Catherine), Todd (Maureen), Don (Patty), Justin (Ashley), and sister Jennifer (Jose). He is also survived by his many loved in-laws, nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and the most amazing group of long-time buddies who helped make his many adventures a reality.

Family and friends are welcome to join in a celebration of Tim’s life on June 15 at 3pm at the Maidu Community Center in Roseville.

A lover of dogs, including many of his own over the years, donations in Tim’s honor can be made to the Placer County SPCA.
