Tifani Brooke Johnson

We are profoundly sad to announce that on May 04, 2021 at the age of 48; TIFANI BROOKE JOHNSON passed away unexpectedly of severe anoxia due to an acute hypoglycemic event in Sacramento, California. Tifani was born August 2nd, 1972 in Madison, Wisconsin to Constance and William Salewski. She graduated from Waunakee, Wisconsin High School. She became certified as an X-ray and then MRI technologist. She worked for the University of Wisconsin Hospitals in Madison, clinics in Florida, Gallatin, Tennessee and Sacramento, California. Recently, she worked as an MRI specialist, traveling to many sites in California and even north to Alaska to supervise for Alliance Health Services. Tifani loved her career, her patients and her staff. She particularly loved teaching the protocols needed for each MRI machine. Tifani married Jeff Johnson in Waunakee, Wisconsin in 1995. They were blessed with their first son, Logan in 1998. They lived in Wausau, where she earned her first X-ray degree. There they had their second son, Jaxon in 2002. They returned to Madison, Wisconsin where she received her MRI degree and then worked as an MRI technician. After divorcing, she moved to Florida to enjoy the warmth of the sun and there became a breast MRI specialist. After meeting her second husband, Peter Daubert, and marrying in 2012, she settled and began working in Sumner County in hospitals and clinics in Gallatin, Tennessee. After her second divorce in 2018, she received a remarkable offer to do middle management in her field in Sacramento, California. With the 2020 pandemic and a furlough, she made the decision to eventually relocate back to Tennessee. She was in Sacramento to help her son Logan also relocate back to Gallatin when she passed unexpectedly after driving 2,200 miles, without stopping to sleep, from Gallatin to Sacramento. Tifani is survived by her sons; Logan Johnson and Jaxon Johnson of Gallatin, Tennessee; her parents, Constance Hofeldt-Rowe (Bruce Rowe) of Middleton, Wisconsin and William Salewski (Ann Hesse) of Madison and her siblings: Don Veerkamp of Madison, Wisconsin, Amie Zellner (Chris) of Waunakee, Wisconsin and Matthew (Jade) Hofeldt of Waunakee, Wisconsin. Her step-sisters Katherine Ridgeway, Melissa Putman and Margaret Zabinski are of Madison and Elizabeth Muellerleile lives in Buffalo, Minnesota. She leaves behind two nieces; Abigail Zellner of Madison, Wisconsin and Afton Hofeldt of Waunakee; and two nephews: Austin Zellner of Madison and Jet Hofeldt of Waunakee. Her cousins; Hannah, Gareth (Emily) and Aaron (Molly) Sleger live in Rockford, Illinois. From her father’s side of the family; she is survived by her Aunt Mary Braun and her cousins, Chris and Brian (Maddy) Braun of Verona and Traci Braun of Chicago. . Tifani is preceded in death by her grandparents, Agnes and William Salewski and Betty Lou and Sam Intravaia and her aunt, Victoria Sleger. Tifani will always be remembered for her wonderful zest for life and her funny stories and memes that she frequently sent to family and friends. She had a heart of gold which she often wore on her sleeve. She would drop whatever she was doing to help another. Her generosity, especially with her sons, was unending. She was quick-witted with an engaging sense of humor that made everyone around her laugh. She possessed a free spirit that made her inquisitive and willing to try most anything…even the hottest of sauces! She loved to sky dive, especially with her son, Logan. She always said that she loved to feel the wind in her face. She loved to drive and feel the open road under her as she admired the beauty of the earth and its inhabitants all around her. She loved to travel and experience the diversity and wonders wherever she was. Her family was amazed at her willingness to pack up and move bravely across the country to follow her dreams or ambition. Her bubbly and charismatic personality helped her to make friends quickly wherever she was. She was captivated by the sight and scent of stargazer lilies. She was dedicated to her sons, Logan and Jaxon. Making Thanksgiving dinner for her family gave her a special joy. Her favorite comfort food was mashed potatoes with lots of butter. She savored pistachio pudding pie with a chocolate Oreo crust, but she disliked mushrooms and cheese on pizza. She loved Disney World and all of the characters, but particularly favored Winnie the Pooh so much, that she had a little Winnie floating with his blue balloon tattooed on the top of her foot and the Disney Cinderella castle, Winnie, Eyore and Stitch, along with an open stargazer lily tattooed on her upper back. Tifani was so smart and read voraciously. Her favorite author as a young lady was V.C. Andrews. She eagerly awaited each novel as they were published. She enjoyed “hanging out” with a good Sci-Fi or Action film, good friends or family and a glass of white wine. She was imaginative, loving; but also somewhat headstrong, impetuous and determined. Her propensity for anything technological enticed her to devour manuals and assure herself that she knew every feature of each device. She could sometimes be stubborn or quick-tempered, but she was also dynamic, pro-active, and extremely hard working at her chosen career as an MRI specialist who loved working with her patients and mentoring each of her staff. Her exuberance was infectious…just like her laugh, which always made her hazel green eyes sparkle. If you look up at the stars at night, you may hear them…It will be as if her laugh were there in the sky like the ringing of a thousand little bells. Tifani’s absence in our lives will leave an unforgettable and painful void , but every time a rainbow appears; it will make our memories smile. A private family celebration of Tifani’s life will precede the scattering of her ashes to the wind that she so loved and over a childhood favorite lake in Wisconsin.
