Lavenda, Thomas Eugene
Thomas passed away on June 20, 2022, at the age of 88.
Thomas was born in Binghamton New York on January 14, 1934.
He is the son of Joseph and Margaret Lavenda, and he grew up
in Wilkes-Barre Township PA. Tom graduated High School in
1951, and as class salutatorian, received a congressional
scholarship to attend Penn State. In June 1955, he graduated
from Penn State with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Tom was commissioned to the United States Air Force and served
as a Navigational Officer from 1955-1958, at the Elligton AF Base
in Houston, TX. Texas is where Tom met and married Anna Bell.
Tom and Anna Bell moved to Sacramento in 1958. While living in
Sacramento, Tom worked at Aerojet General, earned a Masters in
Civil Engineering, and then worked for the State of CA Water
Resource Control Board.

Tom was an avid Penn State Nittany Lion Fan and was often
cheering on his team with other fellow Penn State Alumni. Tom
mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.
He is survived by his five children, eight grandchildren, four great
grandchildren and his sister.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Our Lady of the
Assumption Church in Carmichael on Friday October 14, 2022, at
11:00am.
