Thomas Albert Buechel

December 5, 1969 — June 7, 2022

Sacramento, California - With a heavy heart it saddens me to say our dear brother, son, and friend, Thomas 'Tom' A. Buechel, passed away suddenly on June 7, 2022. He was diagnosed with tonsil cancer. As in life, Tom approached his diagnosis with a positive attitude. He was nine days out from completing Chemo and Radiation treatment, when God called him home. Tom had a zest for life. He had an abundant passion for friends, family, music, microbrew, wine, scotch, and travel. He traveled throughout the US with friends, visiting different microbreweries, readily making new friends along the way. He enjoyed trips throughout the US and Canada to visit cousins. He was an active member of Masonic Lodge 143. As a Sr. Deacon, Tom initiated a clean-up program to help local store fronts keep their properties clean. At age 12 Tom discovered his love of drums. Over the years he developed and honed his craft and began writing music with his best friend Alex. They created the metal band InRuin, went on tour and released two albums. Proceeded in death by his younger brother Anthony N. Buechel and father Verne F. Buechel. Survived by his loving mother Barbara (pid Bill) Browning, sister Donna (Dave) Lewis, sister Theresa Bottino, niece Amber (Cole) Barker and great nephew Weston Barker, his god-children Logan and Lilah Hall, many close relatives, and friends. Tom's motto was "Don't talk about it, just do it"! Rest in peace Tom, you were loved by many. Services will be held at the River City Chapel 910 Soule St. West Sacramento on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10:00am. Reception will be held at the Scepter Masonic Lodge 143, at 3260 Jefferson Blvd. West Sacramento following the service.
