Funeral services for Theodore Raymond Burgess, 67, Sacramento, CA was held at Sierra View Funeral Home in Sacramento, CA at 1:00pm, Thursday, May 5, 2016, with his sister, Rev. Rose Cathy Thornton, officiating. Ted died Friday, April 29, 2016 at his home in Sacramento. Theodore Raymond Burgess was born Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1948 on the family farm near Fullerton, ND to Carl Raymond and Rose Genevieve (Hengels) Burgess. This is where Ted was raised, attending grade school at Kent #1 Country school in Fullerton and Guelph, ND and graduating from Oakes High School in 1967. Ted truly enjoyed the art of education and had many years of studying and learning. Following high school graduation, he attended NSU, receiving his MS degree in education. He later received a degree from the American Institute of Hypnotherapy officially certifying him as a Dr. of Clinical Hypnotherapy in May, 1994. Ted's life was complete, he had an office in his home where he had his practice, and the love of his life, Jo Alice, at his side. The following year he became a father to his son, Raymond Walter Burgess. Ted loved being a father, and he loved having a family. Along with his family, Ted made a lot of great friends over coffee and through his business. He will be greatly missed by all. Grateful for having shared Theodore's life are his life partner: Jo Alice Lieb, Sacramento; son: Raymond Walter Burgess, Sacramento; siblings: Rose Cathy Thornton, Carlene Ellis, and Carl Burgess, all of Aberdeen, SD, and many nieces and nephews.
