Shirley Ann Steinbach

March 28, 1941 — July 19, 2023

In loving memory of Shirley Ann Steinbach, we celebrate a life filled with love, passion, and dedication. Born on March 28, 1941, in Glendale, CA, she grew up in various small towns in the Central Valley, shaping her character and values along the way. Shirley's education journey led her to graduate from Taft High in 1959, and she continued her studies at Taft Junior College and San Jose State, where she earned a degree in Physical Education in 1963.

Shirley's passion for physical education brought her to the Los Gatos Unified School District, where she spent a career of teaching.

During her college days, Shirley found love in the form of her husband, Norm Steinbach, with whom she shared a beautiful journey of 58 years in marriage. Their enduring love and companionship were an inspiration to all who knew them.

In 1995, Shirley and Norm decided to embark on a new chapter of their lives and relocated to Fair Oaks, CA. This change brought new experiences and opportunities, and they embraced them with joy.

Shirley was a woman of many interests and hobbies, such as reading mysteries and westerns, playing golf and tennis, and staying active through walking and exercising. Her involvement in the Mather and Ancil Hoffman Women's Golf Clubs brought her closer to others who shared her passions.

She built strong and lasting friendships throughout her life, and these connections are a testament to her warmth, kindness, and genuine nature. As we say goodbye to Shirley, we remember her with fondness and gratitude for the positive impact she had on the lives of her loved ones and the community.

Shirley's memory lives on through her beloved family. She is survived by her loving husband, Norman Steinbach, her daughter Melissa Coleman, her son Brian Steinbach, daughter-in-law Rebecca Steinbach, and her grandchildren Matthew Coleman (wife Emily), Justin Coleman, Brianna Coleman, Matthew Schneider, and Nathan Steinbach, Sister, Beverly Naschke, Cousin Jim Taylor (Jill), and many nieces and nephews. Moreover, she had the joy of witnessing the addition of great-grandchildren Violet and Beau (expected in September 2023),leaving behind a legacy that continues to grow.
