Shirley Clydean Mcmillen

January 20, 1942 — December 3, 2019

Shirley Clydean (Bibb) McMillen Shirley "Clydean" McMillen passed away on December 3, 2019 after a twelve-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born on January 20, 1942 in Salinas, California to Clyde Clark Bibb and Margaret Evelyn (Smith) Bibb. After the war began, their family relocated to their hometown of Coldwater, Kansas, while her father served in the military overseas. Growing up in Coldwater, Kansas, she met and married her high school sweetheart, Garth W. McMillen. Together, they attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. They subsequently returned to Coldwater where she raised a family, worked in their family-owned bank, volunteered at church and served as a member of the school board. They eventually sold the bank and moved the family to Littleton, Colorado for several memorable years. Garth and Clydean later moved to California to be near their children and grandchildren. She loved quilting, singing in the church choir, walking in the rain and, above all else, spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Garth, her daughter Margaret (and husband John), her son Wesley (and wife Mary), five grandsons, three great grandsons and her brother Clark Bibb. She will be greatly missed by her family and community of friends. A Memorial Service for Clydean will be held on January 13, 2020 at noon in the sanctuary of Fremont Presbyterian Church, 5770 Carlson Drive, Sacramento, California, 95819. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Drive, Suite 206, North Hollywood, California, 91607 as a tribute to Clydean.
