Scott Steven Wilson

On February 23, 2023, Scott Steven Wilson passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 47 years old. He was blessed to have spent the last week at home spending time with family and friends from all seasons of life.

Scott is survived by his wife Erin; three children, Austin (Constance), Harlie and Ashlynne; father, Steven and mother, Florence; sister, Mandy; in-laws, Kristine, Daniel, Kerilyn and Joshua; and nephews and nieces, Blair, Mazzy, Maxton, Jackson and Teigan.

Scott was born in Sacramento, California and grew up as a proud Rancho Cordova resident, graduating from Cordova High School. He attended the University of Phoenix and earned a degree in Business Management. He married Erin McClain on May 15, 2004 and they settled in nearby Mather to raise their children. He spent the last 12 years of his career with the State of California, where he built many wonderful friendships, retiring as a Business Taxes Compliance Specialist.

Scott will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, caring son, protective brother and fun-loving uncle who had great affection for his nieces and nephews. Above all else he was a dedicated father who loved his children beyond measure. He loved traveling and sharing new experiences with his family and friends. With a great appreciation for music, it was always playing in the background of whatever he was doing, from weekend motorcycle rides, to backyard barbeques and afternoons at the beach. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing basketball since childhood, golfing and cheering on his beloved Raiders.

A celebration of life will be held at Hagan Park Community Center, 2197 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova, California, on Friday, March 24th, at 5 pm. Friends and family are welcome, and encouraged to bring memories, photos and favorite stories to share.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
