Ruth Mary Gilchrist

Ruth Gilchrist passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2020. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert (Bob) Gilchrist, her sister Ester Henry and brothers, Daniel Henry, Johan Henry, David Henry, and Timothy Holmes, as well as many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon & Fairy Henry, her sisters Sharon Henry, Hope Henry & Joy Carpenter. Ruth moved to California at age 5. She graduated from Modesto High School in 1968. She attended Modesto Junior College studying Music and General Education. In 1973 She finally got her Driver’s License! She retired from Federal Government in 2003 with 23 years of service. While living in Campbell CA Ruth joined the Church of the Living Word. Throughout her life, Ruth remained very devoted to God, to her church, and to her family. She loved flowers and music! She could play several instruments including piano, organ, a little guitar and the clarinet. She was in the marching band in high school. Ruth also had a beautiful singing voice with an uncanny ability to remember songs and the words to songs. With her infectious smile, she will be missed dearly. Funeral service will be held at Sierra View Chapel 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd Carmichael CA Feb 14, 2020 11:00.
