Ruth "Schebloom" Frederick was born in Minneapolis, MN. She was one of 6 sisters and had one younger brother. After high school she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to help her older sister with a new baby and niece. She got a job in the Navy's uniform shop, where she met her future Navy pilot husband. They dated for several months and enjoyed dancing to the tunes of Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller at the officer's club and local nightclub, The Green Lantern. Their theme song became, "Strangers in the Night." Ruth moved to his home state of California and married in 1948. She worked as a telephone operator for a brief time in Southern California in the early 1950's. Her husband and two children moved to Roseville, Ca in the mid 1960's and remained in nearby Citrus Heights the rest of her days. Ruth loved the home that her husband built for her and the wonderful rose garden he planted for her. Her husband and she always had a large dog as loyal companions...several German Shepherds. She enjoyed socializing with friends over a game of bridge, playing ping pong and entertaining. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. Ruth was an active member of her congregation of Jehovah's witnesses until her health began to fail her. Ruth is survived by her husband, Art "Chip" and daughter Laurie. She is preceded in death of her son Steven. Ruth and Chip were married 69 years.
