Roy Ross Kirkpatrick passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2020. He was born December 3, 1927 in Dinuba, CA, only child to Chester and Wilma Kirkpatrick. The family moved to Healdsburg, CA one year later. He met and then married his beloved Vi on September 22, 1949 and celebrated 71 years of marriage this year. He is survived by Viola, children, Jean (John), Jim (Sue), Dennis, Margaret, Cathy (Bob), and Sally, (preceded in death by Judy and Frank), 15 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren. Roy and Viola were licensed foster parents, ultimately raising 3 who became permanent members of the family, along with others who showed up at their door. He was active in Lion’s Club for 63 years, active in the Presbyterian Church, most recently Northminster Presbyterian Church. He retired from his career as a funeral director in 1989. A job choice which provided much humor and some interesting vacations. He had a lifelong love of aviation, holding a pilot’s license for a number of years. He was an avid reader of science fiction and all things fiction and non-fiction, a talented woodworker, fixer of everything, great sense of humor, lover of people, Hawaiian shirts, and his cactus plants. He was a true gentleman who was greatly respected and much loved. He will be greatly missed. Private inurnment will be at Shiloh Cemetery in Windsor, CA.
