Rosa June Dawson

Rosa June Dawson (Strickland) was born on June 30, 1937 in Molena, Georgia.  She passed away at the age of 86 on Monday, August 21, 2023 after battling some health concerns.  Rosa was proceeded in death by her parents, James E. Strickland(1980) and Elinor Kate Hines Strickland(2002), her brother Robert L.  Strickland(2000) and two sisters, Juliette Dawson(2015) and Flora J. Wilson (2021).

Rosa worked for 28 years with the Federal Government at the Sacramento Army Depot.  Rosa was an active member of her Church community and loved teaching Vacation Bible School when she was able.  Rosa loved genealogy research and would spend numerous hours researching family history.

Rosa is survived by her 5 children, Richard, Michael(Sherri), Rhonda, Chandra and Joe Jr.(Ty).  Rosa has 10 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Hogan of Conley, Georgia, her Brother-In-Law, Lawrence Dawson of Stockton, Ca, her Best Friend Linnie Dean of California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Softly in the morning, you heard a gentle call, you took the hand God offered you, and quietly left us all.
Rosa was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend.  She will be truly missed.  Until we see you again, Rest in heaven, We love you, Your Family.
