Robert (Bob) Garcia passed away on June 16, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Bob was born on March 30, 1946 in Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico to Fidel and Julia Garcia. After moving to California in 1948, Bob was raised in West Sacramento, California (Broderick) and graduated from James Marshall High School in 1964. Bob attended college at California State University, Sacramento where he earned Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts degrees in Government. He went on to attain a law degree from McGeorge School of Law in 1978 and was a member of the California State Bar Association. Bob began his professional career as an assistant to former Assembly Speaker Bob Moretti. He had extensive experience in campaign management and grassroots programs (Winner/Wagner) having managed legislative and statewide campaigns in both California and Oregon. During his law practice, he represented clients before various state boards and commissions as well as numerous local government bodies working first at Capitol Partners. In 1996, he established his own firm, Golden State Advocacy. For over 20 years, Bob represented numerous clients on high-profile issues before the Legislature and other agencies of state government. As he neared retirement, Bob became affiliated with Norwood Associates, LLC. Bob enjoyed collecting fine wine, fly fishing and most of all, spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kim, his daughter, Megan (Greg) Norris, a son, Patrick Garcia, and granddaughters Alexandra and Isabella Norris. A memorial service will be held at the Sierra View Funeral Chapel, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael, CA on August 20, 2022 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.
