Patty Ruth Elson (Lawrence) Born August 7, 1929 near Deerfield, Missouri and died December 5, 2020 in Orangevale, California. Patty is survived by her sister, Marilyn Lawrence, brother Marvin Lawrence and wife Linda, son Eric Elson and wife Paula, daughter Donna Garber and husband Grant, daughter Nancy Clark and husband Jeff, 6 grandchildren (Troy, Travis, Tim, Ben, Ashlyn, and Natey) and 1 great granddaughter Laylana. Patty navigated her way up the corporate ladder and retired from Lockheed Missiles and Space Company, in Sunnyvale, CA as a supervisor. The initial Hubble Space Telescope was one of many projects she was very proud to have worked on. Patty enjoyed traveling and took many trips around the world with the Sun City travel club in Roseville. She found a spiritual home and cherished the many friends she made at the Pleasant Grove Community Church in Roseville. Her hobbies were many and varied, including genealogy, stamp collecting, and bird watching. She was an avid gardener and especially liked to show off her beautiful orchids. Turns out Patty was very artistic too. She surprised us with many acrylic chalk pencil drawings of various scenes while at Eskaton. She valued music, always had a new book she was reading, did crossword puzzles, and loved to shop. When she couldn't get to the stores anymore, she brought the stores to her living room by shopping from catalogs. One of her last wishes was to get back to her apartment so she could get her Christmas shopping done. She was very generous with her family….a birthday card always included a check. Patty supported many charities and causes. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Patty's name to your favorite charity. Patty’s ashes will be buried alongside her husband, Jack N. Elson, who died in 1989, at the Madronia Cemetery in Saratoga, California. No memorial services are scheduled at this time.
