Neil Allan (Mac) MacLean Born October 8, 1930 in Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada. After a brief illness, Neil passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on August 16, 2015, in Sacramento, CA. Neil never met a stranger, was known for his generous nature and his wonderful sense of humor. He had great pride in and found true joy in his family. Neil served in the U.S Air Force from 1951 thru 1955 and then spent the next 30 plus years at Mather Air Force Base as a civilian. He retired as Chief of Aircraft Field Maintenance. At retirement he was awarded the Civilian Meritious Medal, the highest recognition given a civilian by the Air Force. He served as a Deacon and Elder, as well volunteered in many ways, at Carmichael Presbyterian Church. He was a charter member of the Sacramento Ice Hockey Association, belonged to several Scottish organizations and served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts. He is predeceased by his daughter, Gail (MacLean) Clark. Neil is survived by his wife, Kay MacLean, son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Sharon MacLean, granddaughters Kristina Clark, Whitney MacLean, Brandy Clark, grandson Ryan MacLean and great-granddaughter Ashley Dane. Also survived by his brothers John MacLean and Daniel MacLean of Toronto, Canada and sister Mary Courtney of Indiana.
