Hill, Nancy S.
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. Nancy passed away
June 8th, 2024, peacefully in her sleep at Mercy San Juan Hospital, Carmichael,
California after admission on June 2nd.
Nancy was born in Eldon, Iowa on June 14th, 1940. She came to Sacramento,
California in 1948.  She graduated from Grant Union High School in 1958 and was a
student of Home Economics at California State University, Sacramento.  She was a
homemaker for a sizable portion of her life. She also worked as an interior decorator,
and in fabric and food retail at different points in her life. Her passion was travel having
journeyed the U.S. widely, as well as Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand.  She
will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Timothy John Hill of Sacramento,
California, father Elmer Vernard “Pete” (Majorie) Stribling of Eldon, Iowa, mother Helen
Irene (Donald) Stribling of Talent, Oregon, stepfather Donald Marion (Irene) Stribling of
Talent, Oregon, stepmother Majorie (Pete) Stribling of Eldon, Iowa, brother Donald Ray
“Butch” (Nancy) Stribling of Davenport, Iowa, brother Richard Lee “Dick” (Donna)
Stribling of Talent, Oregon, brother Scott (Debbie) Stribling of Medford, Oregon,
daughter Susan Elizabeth “Susie” Hill of Downey, California, and several aunts, uncles,
and cousins.
She is survived by son Richard Louis (Juliet) Hill of Mililani, Hawaii, her daughter
Christine Lynn (John) Shore of Roseville, California, grandchildren Veronica Jasmine
(Kevin Kapsky) Hill of Hilo, Hawaii and Nigel Christopher (Noreen) Hill of Fremont,
California, great grandson Lawrence Jonathan “Lilo” Hill of Fremont, California, brother
Steven Charles Stribling of Columbus, Montana, sister Kathi Ann (Keith) Kathol of
Grants Pass, Oregon, and several cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Nancy also will be missed by all her extended family, friends, and neighbors.  There will
be a private cremation without a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that
a donation be made to Nancy’s favorite charity, the SPCA, or to the charity of your
choice.
