Marygean Lawae Robertson

Marygean Law'ae Robertson (Geanie) passed away on February 23rd, 2018 at the age of 88, in Sacramento California. Geanie was born to John and Elizabeth Kawahine Ke'oKe'o O Kala Kaianui Kaanaana Robertson, on April 16th 1929 in Honolulu Hawaii. She was best known for her beautiful voice and amazing instrumental talent, playing bass guitar and ukulele. She married Norman Lloyd Neves in 1947 in Hawaii. They and their four children moved to Sacramento California in 1956, where she raised her children and played music for a living until 1975 when she returned to her native Hawaii.While there she began working as an ambassador to Hawaii, promoting Hawaii as a great vacation spot, and flew all over the world playing Hawaiian music, which included a contract with Disney World in Japan. She also played music for several years aboard the cruise ships SS Constitution and the Independence, where she entertained passengers as well as crew.Thousands enjoyed her music and she enjoyed playing for them as well. She was an incredibly poised, gracious, and humble Entertainer. Geanie always had a spiritual longing, always believing God was with her. But it wasn't until the age of 76 that she began studying the Bible diligently and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the age of 81.As Solomon said at Eccl. 3:1-13 there is an appointed time for everything under the sun. A time for birth and a time to die a time to weep and a time to laugh. Though it's our time to grieve, our time for Joy is yet to come here on a paradise Earth during the appointed time of the resurrection. Preceded in death by Beloved friend Norman Neves Sr., Beloved son Norman Neves Jr., and beloved siblings Jimmy Robertson and Elizabeth Kuualoha Terry. She is survived by her beloved sister Melvia Iwalani Rodrigues. Her Children Nathan (Cheryl) Neves and Nadeen (Dave) Clark and Peter (Cindy) Neves.She was loved by 10 grandchildren 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 7709 Walerga Road, Antelope, Ca. on March 17th 2018 at 1:30 p.m.
