Mark Ryan Garrett

Mark Ryan Garrett, 51, a dedicated husband, beloved son, and fierce friend, passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of September 10, 2024. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Mark served his country for 20 years with honor and integrity, completed multiple deployments and was awarded numerous commendations for his service.


Born on October 16, 1972, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Mark, Marcus to his friends, grew up with a passion for adventure. He joined the Navy in 1997 where he served aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, Navy Recruiting District San Francisco, USS Ronald Reagan, Navy Recruiting District San Antonio and USS Abraham Lincoln. He concluded his Naval career at TPU Norfolk in Virginia. In March of 2017, Mark retired from the US Navy as a highly decorated Aviation Ordnanceman First Class Petty Officer, earning his Aviation Warfare and Surface Warfare Specialists pins. He then pursued his second career at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Sacramento. He retired from his civilian career in February 2022 and was able to enjoy the last years of his life traveling, pursuing his passion for DIY home improvements, and spending quality time with those he loved.


Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Aneida Marie Garrett and his father, James Louis Garrett, Jr. He is preceded in death by his adoring mother, Marleen C. Garrett. Mark will be remembered for his unapologetic boldness, alluring spontaneity, courageous spirit, and emphatic support for those he loved.


A memorial service will be held in 2025, where friends and family will be invited to celebrate his life. Details to be announced at a later date.


Mark's legacy will endure in the memories and lives of all who knew him.
