Mark Teri Bascon

September 7, 1985 — June 5, 2024

Mark Teri Bascon fell asleep in death on June 5, 2024 at the age of 38. He was born September 7, 1985 in the coastal municipality of Subic, Philippines to Inigo and Genoveva Bascon. He leaves behind his wife, Ana, his three beautiful daughters, Hailey, Beatrix, and Maya, his mother Genoveva, and siblings Heber Bascon, Cleofe Thomas, Anfer Bascon, Carmelita Reyes, Cristina Kosaka, Solomon Bascon, and Gene Bascon.

Mark led a rich life that spanned different countries and multiple careers, at least in part due to his active, energetic nature and his love of the new and the unknown. At the end of his life, however, Mark is remembered by most - not for his work or his adventures - but for his kind heart, his thoughtfulness, his loyalty to those he called friends, as well as his comforting, friendly smile.

Mark - or “Tatay” as he was affectionately known - was dearly loved as a father and a husband, a source of love and security for those in his household. His family’s life was enriched by his social and adventurous spirit, taking them with him to try new restaurants, visit interesting places, and to share in good times with his many friends.

The best gift Mark ever gave to his family found its start when he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in October of 2018. Mark had a deep love for the one he knew as his God and Creator, the “Most High” Jehovah (Psalms 83:18), as well as his son Jesus. This love motivated Mark to make many difficult changes in his life. Mark wasn’t concerned with himself only - he worked hard to instill his Bible-based values in those under his care and to also tell those in his community about his faith. Mark believed that one day sadness, sickness, and death would be removed from the human family and he wanted those he loved to be there to see that day come true (Psalms 37: 10, 11; Revelation 21: 3, 4, 5)
