Lucy - Hartt

Lucy Hartt, nee Lucia D'Antonoli, passed away on October 10, 2018 in Sacramento, California. She was born on April 24, 1931 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to her Italian immigrant parents Pietro Antonio D'Antonoli, born in Reino, Italy and Filomena Mascia, born in Colle Sannita, Italy. Lucy was one of eight children: Tesoro, Salvatore, Malvia, Angelina, Gilda, Luigi, Lucia, and Pasquale. Lucia (Lucy). She was the last remaining living child. Her parents lived in Connecticut and Massachusetts for a brief time before settling in Chicago Heights, Illinois where they raised their eight children. She attended Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, until about 1946. Her father and her brothers went on ahead of her mother and sisters to Sacramento, CA where they found a place for them to live. Her father then sent for his wife and daughters who traveled by train to Sacramento, CA. Lucy remembered the long train ride very well which was full of handsome young service men and she shared the experience with her children when they were old enough to understand about the war. n Sacramento she met a very handsome young man in the local movie theater and he would toss popcorn into her hair. She married that young man, Darrell Clifford Hartt. They lived in Sacramento where Lucy was a telephone operator in North Sacramento, CA. Darrell eventually became one of the owners of the North Area Refuse Company (NARCO) and Lucy worked in the office during that time and together they raised a family of 4 children: Lola, Linda, Laura and Darrell, all of whom are living. Years later Lucy worked at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA. She worked on the F-1-11 fighter jets. While working there she completed her high school education with her eldest daughter Lola and they graduated Grant Union High School together. Lucy leaves behind 8 grandchildren, along with great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. Lucy's husband Darrell Clifford Hartt passed away in 1983. She lived most of her life in Sacramento, CA and became a Jehovah's Witness. She lived with her eldest daughter in Saint George, Utah for several years where she was an active member of Jehovah's Witnesses after 3 major back surgeries. During her recent illness she moved back to Sacramento, CA and lived with her daughter Linda until her passing. She always remembered Jehovah's promise of the Resurrection and she looked forward to seeing her husband of 35 years and a grandson Mark who passed away shortly after his birth.
