Lucita Agunod Arat

June 11, 1948 — May 4, 2024

Lucita Redulla Agunod Arat, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, beauty queen, and health enthusiast, passed away on May 4, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on June 1, 1948, in Davao City, Philippines, Lucita led a life filled with love, faith, and grace.

Lucita was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Ignacio Arat, on November 16, 1968. Together they shared a beautiful journey, but sadly, Lucita became a widow in 2013 when Ignacio passed away, leaving her to navigate life alone for the next 10 years. Their union blessed them with four children: Liezl, Dennis, Celine, and Darryl.

A dedicated educator, Lucita devoted herself to shaping young minds as a 4th-grade teacher at Matina Central Elementary School in Davao City. Her passion for education and her nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on her students and colleagues alike.

In her youth, Lucita captivated hearts as a beauty queen, crowned Miss College of Holy Cross of Calinan College in Davao City, Philippines. Beyond her outer beauty, Lucita was also an avid advocate for health and beauty, inspiring others to embrace wellness and self-care.

Throughout her life, Lucita exemplified grace and elegance, evident not only in her appearance but in her inner strength and faith. A devout Catholic and active member of the Mission Society of the Philippines, Lucita's unwavering faith was a source of comfort and guidance in times of joy and sorrow.

Despite facing the challenges of Parkinson's disease in her later years, Lucita remained a beacon of hope and resilience. Her optimistic spirit and determination to overcome obstacles inspired all who knew her.

Lucita's love extended beyond her family to her 12 grandchildren, whom she adored dearly. Affectionately known as Mamita Lucy, she filled their lives with love, wisdom, and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

Lucita's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her, but her memory will forever be cherished. Now reunited with her loving husband, Ignacio, in the embrace of our Lord God, Lucita's spirit shines brightly in the heavens above.

Lucita Redulla Agunod Arat will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of God and the fond memories of those whose lives she touched.
