Louis (Bill) William Hicks

Louis William (Bill) Hicks was born in Sacramento on January 26, 1944 and passed away on December 26, 2018 at the age of 74. Bill went to Sacramento High School and graduated from Sacramento City College with a degree in electronics. Bill worked at the Sacramento army depot developing test equipment for ten years before going into the custom drapery business in 1973. Generous with his time and talents, Bill was very active in Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church where he was a member since 1971. His deep bass voice enhanced the chancel choir for 46 years. Bill served as a Deacon and Elder and was active in children’s ministries. In addition to teaching Sunday School, Bill and his wife Pam have been members and leaders of F.O.P.C. couples groups both locally and nationally and they taught engaged couples classes for fifteen years. Bill also volunteered at the Sunrise Christian food ministries and donated 562 pints of blood and platelets to the Sacramento Blood Source. Bill was a member of the Sacramento Zoo where he took his children and grandchildren frequently. Bill enjoyed many years of camping and RV-ing with his family and friends. Bill and Pam enjoyed traveling and visited five different continents. Leaving behind his wife Pam, daughters Rebecca and Jennifer, grandchildren Billy, Holly, and Robin. Bill has faithfully followed his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to his eternal home. A memorial service will be held January 24, 2019 at 11:00am in the sanctuary of Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church. 11427 F.O. Blvd. Fair Oaks, CA. 95628
