Loran Charles Patrick Mott

October 18, 1944 — July 19, 2024

Loran Charles Patrick Mott, affectionately known as Pat, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of July 19, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on October 18, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, Pat was the eldest son of Loran Eltar Mott and Bonnie May Miller. He grew up alongside his two brothers, Michael and Christopher, living in various parts of the world due to his father's military career, including Germany and Australia.

Pat graduated with a BA in Psychology from Sacramento State in 1968, where he met the love of his life, Ann Margaret Patterson. The two were married on June 9, 1968, and together they shared a deep and abiding love for over five decades. Following in his father's footsteps, Pat joined the US Army as an officer in 1968, embarking on a distinguished 20-year career that saw him serve in various locations around the world. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. While on active duty at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, Pat achieved his Master's Degree in Hospital Administration. Pat and Ann welcomed their daughter Jennifer to the world in 1970, and their son Nathan in 1975.

After retiring from the Army, Pat pursued a career in accounting, earning his CPA and working with dedication until his retirement from BlueShield. Pat was a man of many passions. He loved the great outdoors, enjoying activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. He was also a man of diverse interests, taking pleasure in crochet, computer gaming, dabbling in cooking, and savoring a good gin and tonic with Ann. Pat was known for his storytelling prowess and his masterful dad humor, always bringing smiles and laughter to those around him.

Pat is survived by his beloved wife Ann, his daughter Jennifer and her husband Marvin, and his son Nathan and his wife Susan. He was a proud and doting grandfather to his three grandchildren: Desi (daughter of Jennifer and Marvin) and Kaden and Alex (children of Susan and Nathan). He is also survived by his brother Michael. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Loran Eltar Mott and Bonnie May Miller, and his younger brother Christopher.

Pat's memory will be cherished by all who knew him. He was a loving and faithful husband, a great dad, and a devoted grandfather. His love, humor, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held on August 10th at 2pm where friends and family will gather to honor and remember a remarkable man who touched so many lives.

Donations can be made in Pat's honor to FISHER HOUSE.
