Lawrence was born on December 04, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to the union of the late Paul and Edna Thompson. On Sunday, October 13, 2019, he transitioned into the hands of our Lord at the age of 77 in Rancho Cordova, CA. After high school, he served more than 20 years in the US Air Force, where he traveled the world receiving numerous medals and decorations including the Vietnam Service Medal. While stationed in England, he met and married Pamella, his wife of more than 50years, and from this union, their daughter Gillian was born. After retirement, he became the entrepreneur's entrepreneur, establishing various and diverse business, including Norwood Center Lauderland in the Del Paso Heights. He was known as the "man," a workaholic with a strong demeanor, strength of character, and work ethic. His hobbies were ranching in Calaveras County, dancing, playing cards, and socializing with old friends from the British American Reunions. He enjoyed traveling with family to Trinidad, Hawaii, and other exotic places. He was a very outgoing person and had a bright smile and joking spirit. He will be forever loved and missed by all those who knew him. He was preceded in death in 2016 by his beloved wife, Pamella. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his loving daughter Gillian, his brother, Paul, his extended family, friends in Trinidad, Michigan, Rancho Cordova, and military buddies abroad. The family suggest that in place of flowers, memorials may be made to SPCA, USO, Loaves and Fishes, an animal shelter, or just listen to and help a homeless or elderly veteran. .
