On August 24th, 1946 Lawrence Melvin Howard entered this world and from that day on it was unarguably a better place. Larry was born in Santa Rosa and moved to Carmichael when he was 10. From that day on Sacramento would never be the same. He attended La Sierra High School where he and his friends would spend their days playing with their "toys", which could be anything with a wheel. They had numerous escapades and adventures and when Larry would retell these stories you would see not just a light, but an ignition, spark in his eyes. In 1974 a spark of another sort happened when he met the love of his life Chris Greenly and in 1976 they were married. There is no doubt what an incredible work ethic and excellent husband, father, and provider Larry was. He began working for Davis Electric at age 14 sweeping floors and stocking material. This ultimately led him to his lifelong trade as an electrician. This was done with hard work and dedication as he progressed through the ranks and was able to ride along and learn with the men. Larry was the best example of a Husband and Father for Chris and their daughter Jami. You could say he was a perfectionist, he would just say "he wanted the job done right!" This is applicable in all aspects of Larry's life whether it be as an electrician professionally or his work around his property, as a husband, father or friend he just simply always got the job done and right. Besides being a adoring Uncle to his many nieces and nephews, he was just an outstanding friend to so many. If you knew Larry for day you could be his friend for life. You might go five years without seeing him and pick right back up without skipping a beat. Through many hair raising, skidding and rumbling, full of life stories all who know and love Larry are woven together through the vibrant colors of his life. Together we will all miss him and treasure each wonderful moment we were able to spend with him. He leaves us with a big bear hug, the best back rub around, a glimmering smile and the raise of a glass or "wheel". Larry truly loved his country life, his toys, his family, and his friends but most of all he so loved his girls. Larry is survived by his devoted wife Chris , daughter Jami (Jason and Caroline) and the apple of his eye his granddaughter Emmalee.
