Laurence Antoine Lazare, 65, passed away on 28 Oct 2015 at his residence in Sacramento, CA. He was born on 26 Feb 1950 in Marin, Martinique to Lawrence Boysie Lazare and Una Beryl Philomena Pierre Lazare. Laurence was affectionately known as ""Larry"" by family and friends. Larry grew up in Champs Fleurs, Trinidad. He graduated from Holy Cross College in Arima, Trinidad. Laurence graduated in 1968. After school Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force, in which he served just shy of 4 years of honorable service. His service included a tour in the Vietnam conflict, where he served as a nurse. Following Larry's combat tour he was stationed at Beale AFB, CA where he served as a medical technician. Concurrently with his military service he pursued an associate degree earning his LVN credentials. Upon Larry's discharge he took up permanent residence in the Sacramento area working for over 39 years in the medical profession. Larry married Sandra Sell in 1987 in Carmichael, CA. They were happily married for 28 years. Larry loved to read books spending countless hours browsing the local bookstores. He also enjoyed tennis, a hobby he started as a serving Airman and continued to enjoy for countless years to follow. During the winters Larry was fond of snow skiing in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. Larry is survived by his spouse Sandra of Sacramento, California; his step-sons Steve and Scott of Sacramento, CA and his step-daughters Cindy and Sandy of Sacramento, CA. Larry is also survived by his 5 brothers and 3 sisters: Bernard of Las Vegas, Nevada; Victor of Atlanta, Georgia; Michael of San Marcos, CA; Philip of Killeen, Texas; Albert of Sacramento, California; Ursula of Atlanta, Georgia; Anne of Champs Fleurs, Trinidad and Lauren of Brooklyn, NY. Larry's grandchildren include Jeremy, Crystal, Kayla, Shanon, Sarah, Riley, Reid and Rocco all residing in California. Larry was preceded in death by his Parents, Lawrence and Una Lazare, and his twin brother Nestor. A funeral service will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Road Dixon, CA 95620 at 1030, 13th of November. A church service celebrating Larry's life will be held the same day at 4:00PM located at Common Ground Church, 8355 Arroyo Vista Dr., Sacramento, CA 95823.
