Kendra Michelle French Born: April 4, 1969 Passed Away: May 15, 2020 Kendra Michelle French of Fair Oaks, CA died in her home, her beloved boyfriend by her side, on May 16, 2020. She is survived by her father, Tom French (wife, Annie French), mother, Marianne Cooke (husband, Roger Cook), brother, Jim French (Stacy), sister, Kristy Caughey (husband, Reed Caughey), son, Kiefer Aflague, and boyfriend, Dan Cahill. Kendra M. French was born on April 4, 1969 in Kettering, OH. She then lived her early life in Long Island, NY before moving with her family to California. There, her parents divorced and she lived in Southern California with her mother in 1983, she moved to Woodland, CA and entered the 9th grade at Lee Jr. High and graduated from Woodland High School in 1987. Shortly after graduation, Kendra moved in with her sister to attend and receive her Cosmetology license from Federico Beauty College. After graduation, while working as a stylist, she met Kenneth Aflague and the two became proud parents of a son born February 9, 1991, marrying in 1992. In 1996, Kendra’s love of music inspired her to pursue a career as a Disc Jockey (DJ). What turned out to be a life-changing decision, practice paid off and she went on to travel the world, performing as DJ Miss K with some of the best-known DJ's in the house music scene. In 1999, she had established her place as a Rave DJ and changed her stage name from DJ Miss K to DJ Frenchie. She was soon recognized as a leading female DJs in a male dominated industry, performing at Rave’s all over the country. Her career was halted when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. With surgery and chemotherapy seemingly successful and her hopes high for a healthy future, the cancer returned one year later to ultimately take her life on May 15, 2020. A celebration of Kendra’s life is tentatively planned to take place on July 4, 2020, where you are encouraged to share your fond memories and humorous stories of beloved mother, famous DJ and cherish friend Kendra French.
