Joyce Faye Holloway-Brown It is with great sadness that the family announces her passing after an illness with Dementia on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the age of 78. Joyce was married to Roy H. Cobb (divorced) and will be lovingly remembered by her children, Roy Cobb Jr, La Joyce Peeples (Cobb), Randy Cobb and Roger Cobb. She was born March 4, 1941 in Longview Texas, to the daughter of Lester T. Brown and Charity Mae Brown, followed by her siblings, Buddy Brown, Lauretta Brown, Jimmie Brown, Larry Brown, Patricia Brown, Audrey Brown, Marilyn Brown and Myra Brown (deceased). She will be fondly remembered by her two grandchildren, Erin Cobb and Christopher Peeples and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. Joyce traveled the world, visiting China, Canada, Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Africa and loved riding trains and tending to her garden. She loved meeting new people and helping those who needed help and she loved to cook and entertain at her home. She received her Undergraduate and Masters degree from Sacramento State University and a member of the sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. She retired from the State of California, working at Atascadero State Hospital and Napa State Hospital and taught English as a Second Language to adults. A visitation will be observed on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Sierra View Funeral Chapel, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael, CA 95608
