Jorge Murga, of Elk Grove, California passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 27, 2018 at the age of 88. Jorge leaves behind his wife Stanka of 55 years, daughters Neva Hartzler (husband Mitch Hartzler), Monica Rasey, son Luis Murga (wife Stephanie Murga), grandchildren – Jessica, Jacob, Jillian, Jordan, Austin, Joseph, Lucas, and Kathryn, and great-grandchildren Adeline, Charlotte and Connor and many loving, nieces, nephews and extended family. Jorge was a very loving, and affectionate grandfather, great-grandfather, father, and husband. Jorge was born in La Paz, Bolivia South America the only child of Luis E. Murga and Lucy Murga. He lived in Bolivia until 1965 when he immigrated to the United States. There he was met by his brothers-in-law. He sent for his wife and eldest daughter in 1966. They raised their family alongside extended family in Hayward, CA. He studied business at Chabot College and went on to manage Daughtrey’s Department Store in Castro Valley for 20 years. He and his wife retired to Elk Grove, CA in 2000. Funeral services for Jorge will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Elk Grove on Monday, January 14 at 11:00 am. Jorge will rest at the Franklin Cemetery in Elk Grove, CA. The family would like to extend special thank you to the Yolo Hospice in Davis, CA for their loving care and support.
