Joel Mark “Edgar” Coleman passed away at home on August 2, 2018 He had emphysema and was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. He also bravely battled depression for many years. Joel was born on September 30, 1969 in Niagara Falls, New York to Franci Markovich Coleman and the late Joel Coleman. Joel attended Valley High School and Consumnes Community College in Sacramento. He was a an avid, self taught computer programmer and a wiz at video games. His Bulletin Board "Electric Dreams..." was legend back in the day. He loved carrying his rubix cube everywhere he went and solving it in nano seconds every time. We often teased him about it but he was persistent in carrying it as his mascot game. He was a most wonderful mediator and counselor to many, including strangers. He knew just how to lift your spirits when you were sad, making you smile and laugh again like his fav cartoon character Snoopy. Joel loved to write and was an excellent storyteller and artist. Who could forget his naming graffitti at Sky Parkway. Always the "cool" guy, he was always also so very loving and compassionate. No doubt he could be difficult to be with at times but he gave us "all" of him as he liked to say, and expected no less from the rest of us. We were all gifted by his presence, a most remarkable, intelligent, unique, giving and Be Here Now person that he was. We learned so much from him and we're ever grateful for Joel "Edgar". His favorite sign off on his text messages was "Peace". May he be at peace in God's loving hands , and may he continue to shine through to us in our loving memory of him forever more . He is survived by his mother Franci Markovich Coleman, sister Sabrina ( Martin ) Coleman Mayhew, niece Sierra Mayhew, nephews Ryan and Justin Mayhew, cousins Kathy Pengelly and John Ciskiewic, many aunts , uncles. and extended cousins.
