Joann Pauline Irwin

Sacramento, CA-- Joann Irwin, age 79, passed away peacefully on Nov. 2, 2017. She was born on March 20, 1938 in Helper, UT to Dominic Louis and Helen Lena Migliaccio (Prazza) both formerly of Helper, Utah. The family relocated to California where she met and on October 10, 1959 married William Lowell Irwin of Morganfield, Kentucky. Joann retired from American River Community College after more than 20 years as a secretary. After retiring she and Bill traveled frequently. Lake Como in Italy was her favorite place and Venice was her favorite city. She will be dearly missed by her husband Bill; children Virginia Haynes (Cliff), Mary Mitchell (Geoff), Linda Vierling (Dale), and Bill Irwin; brother Tony Migliaccio (Jan); grandchildren Kyle Haynes (Marissa), Allyson Haynes (fiancé Kevin Porter), Paul Mitchell (Lauren), Emma Mitchell, Eric and Max Vierling, Zack, Mitchell, and Heather Irwin; two great grandchildren, Madison and Brennan Haynes, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Lena and Dom and her brother Joe Migliaccio. We will miss her smile and easy laugh. Mass and burial: Wed., Nov. 8, 11am, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Center, 7101 Verner Ave., Carmichael. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
