Joan Evelyn Horton Joan Evelyn Horton, age 72, departed this life on October 8th, 2021 peacefully at her home in Sacramento, Ca. She was born August 5, 1949, inFresno, California to her parents Millard Mitchell and Evelyn Hannibal, who all preceded her in death. Joan lived in California all her life. She was a dedicated worker and placed all her hard effort into working for Sacramento County for 36 1/2 yrs, first as a County Court Clerk, then transferred to Human Assistance in the Welfare Dept. Joan loved life and traveling. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family. She loved to shop and attend a variety of cultural events such as ballets, plays and musicals. She leaves behind her only child, daughter Mystique Horton, sister-in-laws Gloria Holmes and Almarie Jackson and brother-in-law David Baker, cousins, loved ones and dear friends. Joan Horton will have a celebration of life memorial at Sierra View Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 4, 2021, 11am. With a placement of urn followed after at 2pm at East Lawn Greenback.
