“ENJOY LIFE & HAVE FUN”
Jesse K Tackett Jr. passed peacefully on November 26, 2024. Born in Los Angeles, Ca. on
September 22, 1937, Jesse was preceded in death by his mother Mary Carpenter/Blackwell and
his siblings James, Ruth & Goldie. Born in the Great Depression Jesse found and cultivated a
strong work ethic mixed with undeniable humor as his core values and outlook on life. As a
result, he started working for PG&E at the young age of 18 and continued as a successful gas
serviceman for 40+ years where he exceled at his craft and made many friends along the way.
In his spare time, he was a devoted husband and father to his family. He is survived by his wife
Carol, son Steven and daughter Sharon. From Scout Master for Steven to Coaching Sharon in
softball, Jesse spent many hours encouraging and supporting his children’s success in their
activities. He also had a love of travel. Early on, he made sure his family experienced the great
outdoors with summer camping trips to Yosemite, Idaho and many other places. In 1976 the
family packed up the ‘bubble top mini-van’ and outlined the United States during its
bicentennial celebration. Visiting as many tourists’ spots as possible on the 25+ state
adventure, Jesse rooted his love of travel in his children. In retirement, he continued his travel
exploits as he cruised the world visiting many countries and continents but always returning
home wide-eyed and full of excitement to share his adventures. Even though his adventure
here on earth is over, his new journey starts with wishes of love and laughter forever.
Jesse rarely said good-bye, he would simply say “ENJOY LIFE & HAVE FUN.”
