Jesse L Calloway Jr

Jesse L Calloway Jr. passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2020 with his loving partner Karen by his side. Jesse L Calloway Jr was born on October 12, 1949 to Jessie L Calloway Sr. And Reversia Calloway in Sacramento, California. He was the second of five children born to this union. Jesse was raised in the Oak Park Community where he attended and graduated from Sacramento High School in 1967, from there he went on to attend Sacramento City College and was drafted into the United States Army. After his military career he worked at Mather Federal Credit Union for a number of years and from there went to work for Sacramento Cable. He then began a career for the State of California and retired from the Department of Justice in 2010. Jesse played many sports and excelled in Basketball and Baseball. He also enjoyed playing golf and pool. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, and the Sacramento Kings. His greatest joys were family gatherings, playing sports and hanging out with friends. Jesse is preceded in death by his mother and father. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving partner Karen Lyons of Sacramento, California, his 4 daughters Stacey Samuel (Raymond) of Cummings, Georgia, Tracey Ward (Marcus), Chelsea Howe (Anthony) and Jessica Palmer of Sacramento, California His 9 grandchildren: Travon, Jasmine, Janae, Camryn, Caitlyn, Ryler, Ashlynn, Max, and Lyla and 3 great grandchildren with 2 on the way. His siblings: Helen Calloway, LaVonne Queen, Stevie Calloway, and Calvin Calloway all of Sacramento, California. He is also an uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. Jesse, you will forever be loved and missed and will continue to live on in the incredible memories that we cherish. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the family will schedule a celebration of life at a later date.
