James Rual Miller

James Rual “Jim” Miller, age 76, of Millbrae, CA passed away on January 2, 2023 in Sacramento, California after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Jim was born on April 18, 1946 to James Rual Miller and Lucille Wallace Miller in Perryville, Arkansas. As a teenager, Jim moved to the West Coast where he made his home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born with an entrepreneurial spirit, Jim operated San Francisco Scrap Metal for a number of years before founding Miller Electric, with his sons Joe and John.

Jim, always a cowboy at heart, enjoyed raising horses, attending rodeos, listening to country music, and watching spaghetti westerns throughout his time in California. He loved spending his time golfing, wearing his wranglers, and keeping his hands in tip-top shape for sporadic games of mercy.

Jim is survived by his first wife, Marlene Mifsud Miller Picchi, second wife Debra McClure Miller; sons Joe Miller, John (Maria) Miller, Chris Miller; step-son Tony (Claudia) Buttigieg; grandchildren Maria Miller, Emily Miller, Joey Miller; step-grandchildren Jillian Buttigieg, Anthony Buttigieg; brother Ron (Gale) Miller of Wilmot, AR, sister Joyce Miller Philley of Bastrop, LA, sister Rualetta Miller Thomspon (Larry) of Greers Ferry, AR; first cousin Boyce Shelton; and good friend Chris Clemons.

Jim is predeceased by his parents James Rual Miller and Lucille Wallace Miller; sister Jeanette Miller Perkins and husband Leonard Perkins, and brother Gary Miller.
