James Arthur Lunnen

James A. Lunnen, 88, (Jim) passed away peacefully at home, on September 15, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joyce Hone, their children, Jim B. (Lisa Brewer) Lunnen, Janet (Dave) Spence, JoAnn Lunnen, JohnW.Lunnen, and Jennifer (Cory) Sturzenegger, his eleven grandchildren, his seven great grandchildren, and his sister, Bette Harmon. Jim was born to Annie Clark and William E. Lunnen on September 27, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah -- the youngest of 8 children. Jim enjoyed an active full life. There wasn’t a sport he didn’t like playing. He shared his love of sports and the outdoors with his children. He taught all his children and many other friends and family how to waterski, play tennis, and ping pong. What fun we had. He was a quiet man but he had a wonderful sense of humor. Jim and Joyce had the opportunity to serve two missions for their church -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: the Virginia Richmond Mission and the California SacramentoMission. Jim also spent many years serving as an ordinance worker in the Oakland Temple. He was devoted to his family and his Church. He is loved very much and will be greatly missed.
