James Vernon Caton Jr.

It is with great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude that the Caton, Coop, Washington, and Walker families must announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother and friend James Vernon Caton Jr on April 19th, 2023.

James was born on November 29th, 1941. His memory lives on and will be undeniably missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Rebecca Ann Caton and his children, James Vernon Caton III and Jacquelene Vaness Coop as well as his beloved Son in Law Robert A. Coop and his beloved Daughter in Law Jennifer Caton. James will also be cherished and remembered by his two grandchildren David James Coop and Majer Bruce Caton. He leaves to cherish his memory three younger brothers Christopher Patrick, Charles C., and Michael Walker and his sister Patricia Walker-Jenkins. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

James was preceded in death by his beloved Grandmother Hattie Howell, Mother Lenora Walker, Father Marian Walker, Sister Marian Joyce Walker-Griffith, and Brother Willie Walker.

James was an unbelievably beautiful human being who left an equally beautiful mark upon this world and on all of those that he was able to touch throughout his blessed life. We will all miss and cherish the time we had with him.
