Jack Schwartz, 98 (almost 99) of Carmichael California, sadly left us on February 13, 2023, following a stroke. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Patricia, his children, Kathleen (and Mark) Platz, Don Schwartz, Carol (and Tim) St. Jean, his grandson, Christopher Platz, his great-grandson, Carter Platz and step-great grandsons, Tyler, and Garrett Platz. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Allen and Vera Schwartz, siblings Edmund Schwartz, Vivian Critchfield, and Bob Schwartz.
Jack was born in Colorado where he grew up on a dairy farm. He left home to join the army in World War II where he served in the Philippines and Okinawa. After the Army, he attended the University of Colorado. Upon graduation, he accepted a job in Chicago, IL becoming a CPA and meeting the love of his life, Patricia. They moved to California where he had a long career as a partner in Schwartz and Platz, CPAs, the successor firm to Harris, Schwartz and Young, CPAs, beginning in 1964.
A funeral will be held in his honor at the Sierra View Chapel in Carmichael on March 2 at 11AM, followed by burial and a reception at Mount Vernon Memorial Park. Please make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project or the SPCA in lieu of flowers.
