Sue DiVecchia was born In Kalamazoo Michigan. Her family later moved to Springfield Missouri, where she was raised with her 5 siblings. Sue was the last surviving sibling. She met her husband, Angelo DiVecchia, at a CCC dance, where they fell in love and married in 1943. They remained married till Angelo’s death in 2000. Together they raised 5 children and supported themselves with Angelo’s Television Repair business. Sue ran the business. Hard to believe a woman could run a business, raise five children, be the chef, chauffeur, housekeeper, referee and entertainer. Pretty amazing. Sue was also a doll maker, artist, seamstress, cook, and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. John DiVecchia, the oldest son, passed away in 2014. Shirley Simmons, the oldest daughter, passed away in 2010. Surviving children are Linda Ohlmeyer, Sally DiVecchia and Jerry DiVecchia. Sue was a long standing member of the Eastern Star and the Berry Creek Grange. At the grange Sue enjoyed serving her biscuits for theSaturday morning breakfastto the local residents, firemen and members of the grange. She loved her card games and making crafts. Sue has left wonderful memories for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to hold in their hearts. We were blessed to be her children and share her journey. We love her with all of our heart and she will be forever missed.
