Homer Harold Brandt

June 15, 1932 — July 22, 2015

Homer Harold Brandt was born on June 15, 1932 in Pollard, AR. He was 83 years old when he passed away. Harold, as he was always called, was the oldest of eight children. His father was named Homer Edward Brandt and his mother was named Lois Mae Brawner Brandt. As a young man, Harold joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. Upon returning from his Navy service, some of the jobs Harold had were working for the Highway Patrol, a trucking company, as well as a shoe factory in Poplar Bluff, MO, where he met his first wife. Harold went to Barber College after moving to CA with his wife. He worked as a barber for several years, buying his own shop in Carmichael, CA after he became a master barber. He later sold his barber shop, deciding to manage a convenience store, also in Carmichael, CA. Harold later began managing a Beacon gas station in Carmichael, CA for many years. Harold bought the Budget Barber Shop in Citrus Heights, CA and worked there until he retired. After retirement, Harold and his wife Dorothy bought a RV, traveling portions of the Western United States for over 13 years. The last few years of Harold's life were spent back in Sacramento with his family. Harold is survived by seven siblings: Mary Helen Weitlauf, Otis Wayne Brandt, Jerry Ronald Brandt, Wilma Deane Badgley, Kathleen Louise Thomas, Bill Ray Brandt, and Deborah Elaine Kirkman. Harold's only child, Mark Stephen (Steve) Brandt, was from his first wife, Beatrice Irene Gilliland. Additionally survived by: Step children Ted Brandt, Ty Brandt, Sue Durst, Bob Jones Jr, and Tim Jones. Harold is survived also by one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. We are comforted to know that Harold is now in Heaven with many of our family and friends. May you rest in peace. We will see you again one day.
