Henry Lopez Gil

September 21, 1949 — February 18, 2024

In loving memory of Henry L. Gil, who departed this world on February 18, 2024. Born on September 21, 1949, in San Jose, CA, to Henry and Mercedes Gil, Henry was a cherished husband, devoted father, and friend to all. Known affectionately as Kiki to close friends and family, and as Tata to his beloved grandchildren, Henry brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His infectious smile and kind heart endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Linda. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories and touched the lives of many. May they now be reunited in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that binds them together forever.

Henry is survived by his loving children: Valarie Meadows, Veronica Gil, Henry Gil, and Fernando Gil. He was a devoted grandfather to Chanel Sotelo, Jacob Gil, and Gabriel Gil, and a proud great-grandfather to Jashiah and Anthony Lewis. Henry is also survived by his sisters Martha Lorenzana and Christina (Tina) Gil, and his brother Richard Gil; as well as numerous other relatives and friends whose lives he touched. Their bond was one of love and support, and Henry cherished the moments spent with them. Henry's family brought him immense joy, and his love for them knew no bounds.

Henry's zest for life extended beyond his love for the Raiders. He found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of camping, firing up the BBQ, tending to his yard, and most importantly, spending quality time with his beloved family. Whether it was roasting marshmallows around a campfire or hosting family gatherings in his backyard, Henry's warmth and love created lasting memories for all who were fortunate enough to share in those moments.

Henry was not only a devoted family man and talented musician but also an amazing storyteller with a passion for history. His captivating tales of the past brought history to life and inspired those around him to appreciate the richness of our heritage.

Henry resided in Elk Grove, CA, where he embraced each day with enthusiasm and gratitude. His presence enriched the lives of those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
