Gus D. Ralph was born in Sacramento on July 9th, 1954. He departed this life for heaven on July 19th, 2021. He was pre-deceased by his parents Delmar and Naomi Ralph, daughter Laura, and sister Carol. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Susan (formerly Lair), daughter Christle Young (husband Roy), and three grandsons, Jeremiah, Wyatt, and William, all of Rancho Cordova. Gus is also survived by three brothers. Glenn (wife Kathy), of Rancho Cordova, Gary (wife Darlene) of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and Gerald (wife Renee) of Auburn, California. Other survivors include Susan's mother Twyla and step father Don of Fernley, Nevada. He graduated from High School in Sacramento in 1972. He was raised in North Highlands, and moved to Greenville, California shortly after graduating to work in a local lumber mill. While there, he served as the youth pastor at the Greenville Assembly of God Church. While serving that position he was able to gather up to one forth of the local high school students into the church youth group. After the lumber mills in that area closed Gus move his family to Sacramento where he worked for several years in the pest control business. In time, he was hired by the city of Sacramento where he worked for 30 years in the traffic signs and markings department until his retirement in 2016. Gus and his family resided in Rancho Cordova for several years until his death. Gus loved books. He had a very fine library that included books on theology, history, ,and assorted other subjects. He loved going to garage and yard sales where he found many delightful "treasures". He also loved fishing and camping with his wife Susan. Gus wrote wonderful poetry, and was a published poet. He had a delightful sense of humor and a big smile. His gentleness and his kindness were appreciated by all who knew him. He very much loved his family and friends who already miss him. And, as most of us are Christians, we look forward to being reunited with him in the not too distant future. Services are pending.
