Greta Linell McCarty (Jensen) proud wife, mother, grandma of 10, homemaker and amazing cookie maker ,passed at the age of 70 on March 13, 2024 peacefully with her husband Matt, sister Bobbie, brother in law Brett, daughter Kristy and Grand daughter Kenzie surrounding her.
Greta was born on December 28th, 1953 to Roberta May Jensen (Cole) and Jacob Carsten Cole.  The youngest of three. Both parents and brother Robert Jensen  preceded her in death.  Greta grew up in Stockton Ca. where she went to high school at St. Marys High and graduated in 1972. It is at St. Marys High school she met her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 years Mathew  Mccarty and they married in 1973. Greta went on to have a son Mathew J. Mccarty who preceded her in death (2019) and a daughter Kristy McCarty. She was a proud "GG" of 10 grandkids who she loved making cookies for and buying special treats. The grandkids always knew there would be a cookie waiting for them when they came to see GG.
Greta spent her time traveling with her husband Matt to Bodega Bay and many weekend trips together in their airstream. Greta is most known for her ability to walk 5 miles a day through the hills of Rancho Murieta where she lived the past 5 years, never sit down and never to have met a stranger. She was always making sure her people had enough to eat and that everyone was equally loved. Greta also made sure she had the most beautiful patio full of fresh flowers and trees.
Greta is survived by her husband Mathew McCarty, daughter Kristy McCarty, sister Bobbie Wood two aunts, her 10 grandchildren and her kitty "G".
There will be a private family viewing.
Celebration of life witll be held at a future date for immediate family
in Lieu of flowers we ask you make donations to MD Anderson in her son Lt. colonel  Mathew  McCartys name
